Happy are the painters,

for they shall not be lonely.

Light and color, peace and hope

will keep them company to the end of the day.

~Winston Churchill~

How true is this? If you are a painter, you know the validity of Mr. Churchill's comment. I cannot count the number of times that a paintbrush has chased away a lonely day of worry or just simple boredom...

Howdy from a Texas girl at heart! My name is Stephanie Butler and I am the sole proprietor of Sunshine -n- Ravioli. I say “at heart” because for the majority of the past fifteen years I have not actually lived in Texas. I am married to a soldier, so he and I, the two beautiful kids and the fur-babies go wherever Uncle Sam sends us. It’s a unique life to say the least, but I would not trade my membership in the sorority of military wives for a thing!

I have always enjoyed keeping my hands busy, from scribbling with crayons (Yes, I was one of those kids who HAD to stay in the lines!) to sketching with colored pencils to needlepoint, crochet, woodworking- basically whatever I could get my hands on. Then about 4 years ago I discovered the paint brush. It was, as Oprah might say, my light bulb moment. This was what I was supposed to be doing! The stars crossed and the planets aligned at this point because at this same time in my life, that dear soldier husband of mine was deployed to Iraq for a year long tour. Painting kept me busy and sane (actually in my world those two words are very closely entwined) during a very stressful time. Had my husband not been gone during that time, I doubt I would have gotten the crazy notion to actually try to turn this hobby into a profitable business as well.

I started selling on E bay January of 2004 (first under the business name Lone Star Primitives, which I changed to my current name in April 2007) and have been a fairly steady seller since. Since it has always been my goal to get into the design arena, this website is the next step in my evolution. I spent the last half of 2005 submitting projects to magazines, and I am happy to say that several started to appear in Country Marketplace and Create and Decorate throughout 2006. Country Marketplace has since stopped publishing, but I have continued a great relationship with Create and Decorate, one I am very thankful for. This has given me the experience and confidence to branch out into my own line of patterns. I hope you will like them....

I also belong to THE GREATEST Ebay/ Etsy selling group...the Secret Society of Dirty Sisters...dirty as in primitive, grungy, sometimes old and grubby. We share a love of all things vintage. I feel lucky to belong to such a talented (and are these gals ever talented!), down-to-Earth, fun and caring group. Check out our listings frequently to find all kinds of imitive, vintage, and antique goods...just type SSODS in your  search bar to see what we are all about!

And a Quick note....I have pretty much stopped selling on Ebay. The environment was one I just didn't really want to be so involved with anymore ( I needed a break). That being said, I will probably still list there during the Holiday season of 2008. We will go from there after that....

I hope you enjoy your visit …please check back often as I will be adding lots more goodies soon...
